One of Tradetrek's high-tech tools, the "StreamTrek", will help you stay on top of the market. StreamTrek is a real-time device that allows you to dynamically monitor the stocks in your portfolio.

Content Highlights:
1. How will StreamTrek help me trade stocks?
2. How do I access StreamTrek?
3. How do I add or delete stocks; what are the icon buttons and charts within StreamTrek?
4. How do I change settings on StreamTrek?
5. What are the meanings of the fields and symbols in StreamTrek?

How will the StreamTrek help me trade stocks?

StreamTrek is completely synchronized with the market movements. It promptly shows you all price and quote changes that occur in the market. StreamTrek gives you the most recent "Money Flow" and "VWAP" that are derived based on the analyses of real-time quotes. By integrating this data into one table that is self-updating with current live data, we provide you with a venue to effectively monitor your stocks of choice. Active traders need to have real-time information about the market so they can make prompt trading decisions.

We would like to emphasize the benefits of StreamTrek:

(1) If you monitor or trade a few stocks at the same time, StreamTrek will provide real-time information on all of the stocks simultaneously.

(2) StreamTrek is a dynamic interface between you and the market. A good active trader needs to "ride the waves of the market" and "become one with the market." You cannot achieve this "resonance" between you and the market if you have to refresh the screen all of the time to see real-time quotes.

(3) StreamTrek gives you quick access to all of your stocks. You can minimize StreamTrek into a small icon and have the convenience of being able to do other things at your computer. When you want to take a look at your trading positions, you need only to click on StreamTrek icon at the bottom of your monitor to see them.

(4) Coming soon...in future releases of Tradetrek, we will link StreamTrek to trade execution windows and you will be able to execute trades quickly right from StreamTrek.

How do I access StreamTrek?

To access StreamTrek, log in to Tradetrek.com as a Gold user. On the home page click on "StreamTrek" which is listed on the secondary, horizontal, blue navigation bar under "Tools." It is the second item from the right. You can also click on the icon button, located on the right side of the home page, near the blue 'Words of Wisdom' box.

It looks like this:

After opening "StreamTrek," you will be greeted with a pop-up window that lists "Simple directions for using StreamTrek," meanwhile StreamTrek itself will automatically open. See Figure 1.

To begin using StreamTrek you must type in your "Tradetrek ID" and " Password," then hit the "Login" button. Note that it is important to leave the first pop-up window with instructions open, if you close it, your StreamTrek will close too. You can minimize the initial pop-up window by clicking on the minus sign found at the upper right corner of the window.

Please note StreamTrek is only available to Gold users.

How do I add or delete stocks; what are the icon buttons and charts within StreamTrek?

You can add up to 20 ticker symbols to StreamTrek. Let us explain how to add or delete a stock to StreamTrek. Please refer to Figure 2 (Navigation within StreamTrek) for the remainder of this explanation.

  • To add symbols: Enter a symbol or multiple symbols (less than 5 at a time) separated by spaces, and click on the "Add" button.
  • To delete a symbol: Enter a symbol or multiple symbols (less than 5 at a time) separated by spaces, and click on the "Remove" button. You may also highlight the row of the symbol you wish to delete, and hit the "Delete" key on your keyboard.

You will find a miniature Market Index Center that gives you up to-the-second information on the major indices. At a glance you will be able to track the movement of your watch list, while comparing it to the changes of the market.

On the bottom right side of StreamTrek you will see a row of buttons. These buttons are links to some of Tradetrek's most popular tools. You can access all of these features right from your StreamTrek. When you click on a button, a new window will open with the feature just selected; the advantage of using these buttons is that your StreamTrek will remain open. This allows you to conveniently access the analysis and research tools that help you to make the right trading decisions, while benefiting from the real-time data flow of StreamTrek. The features are as follows:
Technical Live Picks, 6-Month Target, Neural Network Live Picks, Tradetrek News Center, Trade Panel, and FAQ/Help

How do I change settings on StreamTrek?

You can actually redesign StreamTrek to suit your needs by adding or removing indicators. In the next section, we will explain these indicators. To change the indicator fields, click on the “Settings” button and all of the available fields will appear. You can check or uncheck each field of your choice. Then click the “OK” button and StreamTrek will automatically adjust. See Figure 3.

What are the meanings of the fields and symbols in StreamTrek?

Many of the meanings are self-explanatory; for example "Last" refers to the last trade price and "Volume" shows the volume of shares being traded for a particular stock. Here are short explanations for all of the available indicator fields:

Symbol: Letters used to uniquely identify a stock.

BTick: A tick on the bid side. Tick refers to the minimum change in price a security can have, either up or down.

Change: The difference between last price and previous close price.

Bid: Also referred to as "bid price," this is the quoted bid, or the highest potential price an investor is willing to pay to buy a security. Practically speaking, this is the available price at which an investor can sell shares of a stock. Please go to Tradetrek University for more information.

Ask: This is the quoted ask, or the lowest price an investor will accept to sell a stock. Practically speaking, this is the quoted offer at which an investor can buy shares of a stock; also called the offer price.

BidSz & AskSz: The number of shares available on the bid and ask side.

Day High & Day Low: The highest and lowest price for the day.

    PClose: Previous day's close price.

Trade Count: The number of times a ticker has been traded since market open.

Day Open: The price of a stock at the open of the trading day.

% Change: Equal to the Change over PClose.

Tick Count: The count of how many tick changes there are for the day.

VWAP: The Volume-Weighted Average Price in today's trading session.

Money Flow: The net fresh capital that has flown in (positive) or out of (negative) the stock in today's trading session.

We hope you have a better understanding of StreamTrek; how, what, and why you use it. StreamTrek will provide you with the real-time, dynamic information needed to help your portfolio's performance stay to top.
